IR Electronics Technician

Summary
Assemble electrical components for finished products.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Determine if all parts are present.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings and/or schematics, blueprints and work orders to determine material requirements and assembly instructions..
  • Plan layout and fit of components to assembly instructions.
  • Assemble components.
  • Inspect grooves, angles and gap allowances for precision.
  • Ensure all parts are fitted properly.
  • Proficiently use all hand tools needed to perform job.
  • Drill, tap, ream, crimp, cut and shrink components.
  • Route, comb, twist, wrap, tie and attach wire to terminal points using soldering gun and hand tools.
  • Connect wiring to relays, switches, etc.
  • Inspect equipment and conduct functional and continuity test of components using various test equipment.
  • Measure and adjust voltages to determine operational accuracy.
  • Report errors in product line, troubleshoot malfunctions and resolve assembly issues.
  • Check stock to ensure inventory and supplies are replenished.
  • Complete required documents, including quality control forms.
  • Participate in product development.
  • Communicate with supervisor while working independently and on schedule.
  • Willing to help and do any task, including maintaining a clean, organized work area.

Job Requirements, Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED require
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Care in handling and assembling parts
  • Ability to interpret measurements and verify specifications including use of fractional measuring tools such as machinist scale and tape measure, micrometers, calipers and feeler gauges
  • Ability to follow instructions precisely and consistently
  • Ability to lift material throughout the day.
  • Demonstrates dependability and reliability by being punctual and completing responsibilities in a timely manner
  • Work safely and efficiently at all times.

CR Fabricator

Summary
Prepares material for equipment production.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lay out, fit and fabricate metal components to assemble equipment such as machinery frames.
  • Lay out, position and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications.
  • Tack-welds or welds components and assemblies.
  • Cuts and forms work pieces using drill, tap, shears, rollers, powered saws and hand shears.
  • Inspects grooves, angles and gap allowances for precision.
  • Removes rough spots form work piece using portable grinder, hand file or scraper.
  • Welds components in flat, vertical or overhead positions.
  • Heats, forms and dresses metal parts, using hand tools, torch or welding equipment.
  • Able to read and build from blueprints and/or schematics, analyzing to plan layout, assembly and welding operations.
  • Develops templates and other work aids to hold and align parts.
  • Builds prototype and test products.
  • Proficiently use all hand tools needed to perform job.
  • Ability to interpret measurements and verify specifications
  • Communicate with supervisor while working independently and on schedule.
  • Willing to help and do any task, including maintaining a clean, organized work area.

Sawyer Shear

Summary
Prepares material for equipment production.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Safely operate fork lift.
  • Operate shear, band saw and cold saw.
  • Check incoming metal orders and inspect metal for proper size-square and quality.
  • Track metal inventory and order as needed.
  • Track band saw and cold saw blades, ordering as needed.
  • Communicate with supervisor while working independently and on schedule.
  • Willing to help and do any task, including maintaining a clean, organized work area.

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Good math skills
  • Ability to read and use tape measures
  • Ability to follow instructions precisely and consistently
  • Ability to lift material throughout the day.

Mechanical Engineer

Summary
Design and test roasters and ancillary equipment using the application of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, solid modeling, flow simulations and structural analysis.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Utilize engineering principles to design, test, validate, and troubleshoot coffee roasters and associated ancillary equipment.
  • Perform computational analysis and model simulations as required.
  • Produce system specifications, CAD Drawings, Bills of Materials (BOM’s), test plans, process flow charts and other design & developmental documentation.
  • Provide documentation as needed for compliance to the Diedrich Quality Management System and general presentation or communications needs.
  • Ensure that components meet statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Work safely and efficiently at all times.
  • Work both individually and within a team.
  • Ability and willingness to travel.
  • Communicate with supervisor while working independently and on schedule.
  • Willing to help and do any task, including maintaining a clean, organized work area.

Job Requirements, Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or working toward a degree for summer/intern position)
  • Ability to create, or modify single parts, part drawings, sub-assemblies and full assembly drawings using Soildworks Professional
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and SolidWorks software.
  • Familiarity with TK Solver and other programs helpful
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with sheet metals, fabrication, and the different types of steel preferred. This can be obtained on the job
  • Ability to follow instructions precisely and consistently
